There really is no other shoe to drop......

There really is no other shoe to drop....

If you've been doing yoga for any length of time, you've had, during or after a yoga class, that feeling of profound well-being. You know with certainty that you, and everything in your world, is beautiful and safe and perfect as it is.

As human that have been influenced by other humans, we've been trained to believe that there's another shoe that's going to drop if we actually relax into our world as it is.  We're afraid that if we're not vigilant it may all fall apart.

I've personally realized, and forgotten, many times that there is no other shoe.  A wonderful reminder of this is my 92 year old grandmother: smiling and relaxed as she basks in her old age and mellowed countenance.  My whole life my grandmother was sweet smart but anxious, always.  If you asked her, "what about?", she never knew.  Just anxious.

On her 91st birthday, she and I held hands and laughed and I told her, "See Grandma, all that worrying...for nothing!  There is no other shoe.  There never was!  You're happy and beautiful and safe and you're 91 years old today. There never was really anything to worry about.  Your life is beautiful and big!"

I felt that truth strongly that day and always when I see my Grandma. And whenever I forget I just get on my mat, moving and breathing and letting my breath nring me back into the present moment where my mind and body link happily and move in harmony and unison.

Keep practicing yoga.  You are the most worthwhile person that you know to get to know better!  Listen to your fears, assuage your own anxious mind, bask in the glory of your body and be inspired and amazed at your existance.

There is no other shoe coming...so take your time on your mat!
