Breathwork and Meditation Classes

....are classes half dedicated to breathwork (pranayama) exercises and half dedicated to a guided meditation. Students will be led through breathwork techniques step by step and then encouraged to do several sequences of breathwork. Practicing breathwork before meditating has a calming effect on both the mind an the body and makes the following meditation easier to sink into and more fruitful. You will emerge from these videos relaxed and refreshed. Some stuednts choose to follow Breathwork and Meditation videos with a yoga video of their choice, finding that the first prepares them very well for the latter. Enjoy your practice!

#0929 Breathwork and Meditation, 35 minute
How well do breathwork exercises prepare me for a seated meditataion period? This 35 minute class is a mixture of Breathwork and Meditation. We begin with a brief meditation and end with one as well. The middle body of the class is comprised of several pranayama exercises: Kabalabati breathing, Uddiyana Bonda, and several rounds of Alternate Nostril Kabalabati Breathing. The purpose of placing periods of meditation at the beginning and end of this class is to powerfully dramatize for you the effect that deep breathing has on your mind and to emphasize how it calms your physical body naturally and gently. This is a great class! Clothing for this video provided by BePresent. We love you Be Present--both your yoga clothes and your yoga spirit!! Thank you!!! www.bepresent.com Namaste! . . . keep reading

This shorter Breathwork and Meditation class is quiet and calming. We will explore the calming and balancing effects of alternate nostril breathing, beneficial in balancing the two halves of our brain so that we have more balance and equanimity. The class ends in a quiet guided meditation that moves into silence. Rest in your easy countenance and grace. Enjoy. Clothing for this video provided by Be Present. #0926 Moderate-Intense, Yoga and Meditation, 58 minute
Moderate-Intense Yoga and Meditation. Get calm, centered, and focused! We will begin class by enjoying simple centering breaths and setting our intention for this class. Moving into Bound-Angle Pose(Baddhakoonasana) and then Wide Angle Foward Fold, we will stretch luxuriously on our mat in floor postures before moving into Abdominal exercises. Upward Facing Boat will challenge our balance while strengthening our core integrity. Alternate Elbow to Knee will show us how to Really connect in with the abdominal muscles in a way that is visceral instead of theoretical. We'll use Chair posture transition into Runners Lunge to work on Balance and Equanimity in transitions (in this sequence and in life in general!!). And most importantly, we will expand our breath in this class until it inhabits our entire body! After standing Tree Posture and Standing Balancing Toe-Hold Posture we will move down into Twists and end in a Seated Lotus meditation. (You can sit as comfortably as you choose if Lotus doesn't work for you!) Enjoy the sense of calm you create for yourself with this class. Relish it. Do the practices that create that calm for you often enough and this state will become the norm in your world. It is an inevitability :) Namaste! . . . keep reading
